China Marketing Agency for Global Brands

Chinese demand is huge.
It won’t find you by accident.

The Harvest helps brands become visible, trusted, and chosen by Chinese customers through platform-native strategy, content, and campaigns. Our strategies are profit focused and culturally sensitive, protecting your brand and unlocking new revenue.

Trusted by Global Brands Targeting Chinese Consumers

The problem

Chinese customers don't trustinvisible brands.

If a Chinese customer can’t find you on WeChat, can’t read about you on Xiaohongshu, and can’t see anyone like them recommending you, they assume you don’t want their business. So they spend it elsewhere.

Most businesses ignore this for one of three reasons. They assume their international reputation travels (it often doesn’t). They assume Google and Instagram can do the work (those platforms don’t operate inside China at all). They assume translating their content is enough (it isn’t).

Every booking, transaction, enquiry or lead lost to a competitor who localised properly is revenue that could flow to your business with the right team managing your brand in China. We can help you close that gap.

Chinese Digital Marketing

We sit between two markets and speak both languages.

We’re a UK-based China marketing consultancy. Our clients are global businesses that want Chinese customers but don’t know where to start, or have tried Western tactics in China and watched valuable marketing spend disappear.

We work like a senior in-house specialist. Not an outsourced black box. You’ll know what we’re doing, why, and what it’s expected to return.

This is a long-term professional partnership, not a media-buying transaction. Trust first. Revenue second. Vanity metrics never.

If we can’t help, we tell you. If we can, you’ll see the path before you spend a pound.

Our Services

Five Disciplines.One Chinese Marketing Strategy

Strategies, content and messaging that helps Chinese customers trust you, choose you, and pay you.

01

Chinese Digital Marketing Strategy

China is not a larger version of your national market. It runs on different platforms, different consumer logic, different buying journeys. A China-specific strategy shows where your audience actually searches, compares, trusts and buys, and turns activity into a joined-up plan across platforms, content and conversion.

02

Chinese Social Media Management

Xiaohongshu builds trust and discovery. WeChat supports customer service, CRM and lead nurturing. Weibo drives public conversation. Douyin creates short-form demand. Together, they turn visibility into enquiries, bookings and sales.

03

Influencer Campaigns in China

KOLs build awareness and authority. KOCs create peer trust and social proof. Picked well, the right voices turn cold Chinese audiences into enquiries, confidence and sales. Effective influencer campaigns match the right voice to the right commercial goal.

04

Digital Content Production in Chinese

Chinese consumers read tone, visuals and cultural fit before they commit to the offer. We rebuild content for the platform, the audience and the buying moment.

05

Cross-Cultural Training

Sales conversations, partnerships, customer service and negotiations break down for tiny reasons. A wrong gift. A misread silence. A salesperson who pushes when they should listen. Cultural training fixes the leaks before they cost a deal.

Case study · Uber Eats

Built To Be Recommended By Chinese Students

Uber Eats wanted to attract Chinese student users across six major cities in Northern UK. The route in: KOCs, Key Opinion Consumers with fewer than 1,000 followers on Xiaohongshu, where authentic peer recommendations land where polished influencer content can’t.

We developed the KOC campaign strategy, defined the content style and messaging, hand-picked KOCs by authentic tone, and quality-controlled every post to keep consistency and impact across the rollout.

How we work

A method built on how Chinese customers actually buy.

Different work, same logic across every service and every sector.

01

Find where the demand already exists

Specific Chinese segments, specific platforms, specific buying moments. No assumptions, no spray-and-pray.

02

Rebuild your message for a Chinese context

Cultural cues, visual codes, status signals, language. Not translation, localisation.

03

Make you visible in the right places

The platforms that influence the decision, not the ones that look good in a slide deck.

04

Bring in the right voices

KOL, KOC, expert, peer. The right voice removes the right hesitation at the right stage.

05

Design a frictionless buying journey

Interest to purchase, without dead ends. WeChat to enquiry, enquiry to sale.

06

Measure real outcomes

Bookings, enquiries, sales, revenue. Not likes, not impressions, not vanity dashboards.

Case study · UK Car Bookings

Built to be found by Chinese Customers

A London chauffeur service wanted to reach more Chinese clients and strengthen its position as a trusted luxury transport partner. The goal: connect with high-value travellers, embassies, event guests and VIP clients through targeted social presence.

We built a clear Xiaohongshu and WeChat plan focused on Chinese audiences, brand trust and premium client acquisition. Tailored visuals, videos and captions designed to drive quality enquiries, not vanity engagement.

Who we work with

Different sectors. Same disciplined method.

Different audiences, different worries, different platforms, different proof. Here's how we drive revenue in each.

Sector 01

Travel Retail & Duty Free

Chinese travellers plan their airport spend before the flight takes off. We help duty-free retailers capture pre-travel intent, lift average transaction value, and turn first-time travellers into repeat shoppers.

Sector 02

Transport & Premium Mobility

Pre-booked transport is a trust purchase. We help chauffeur, transfer and premium mobility brands win bookings before the visitor even lands.

Sector 03

Real Estate & Property

Chinese property buyers move slowly and ask hard questions. We build the long-form trust content, WeChat nurturing and KOL credibility that turns interest into qualified enquiries.

Sector 04

Food, Drink & FMCG

High-frequency purchases, decided quickly. We drive trials through Xiaohongshu seeding and Douyin content, then turn first-time buyers into repeat customers.

Sector 05

Tourism & Hospitality

Hotels, restaurants and destinations live or die by what Chinese travellers see before they pick a place. We build Xiaohongshu visibility, KOL itinerary content and WeChat booking journeys.

Sector 06

Tech & Professional Services

B2B in China runs on trust, referral and reputation. We help tech, legal, financial and consultancy firms build authority on WeChat and generate qualified Chinese-speaking leads.

Stop guessing. Start winning Chinese customers.

FAQ's

Do we really need a separate strategy for China?

The platforms are different (Google, Instagram and Facebook don’t operate inside China), the buying psychology is different, and translated UK content reads as foreign rather than localised. Chinese consumers can spot translated marketing in seconds. The investment in a proper strategy is almost always recovered in lower wasted spend within the first six to twelve months.

Which Chinese platform should we be on first?

It depends on your sector and your goal. WeChat for B2B, lead nurturing and high-ticket purchases. Xiaohongshu for trust, lifestyle and pre-purchase research. Douyin for awareness, demand creation and live commerce. Weibo for PR, news and brand momentum. We don’t recommend a platform until we understand the buyer journey for your specific product or service.

How is this different from working with a UK digital agency?

UK agencies build for UK consumer behaviour, UK platforms, UK cultural cues. They don’t operate inside Chinese platforms day-to-day. They rarely work in Mandarin. They almost never understand Chinese consumer concerns at the depth required to convert a serious buyer. A UK digital agency is the right partner for a UK campaign. For China, you need someone whose work is China.

Do you work with businesses that have never sold to Chinese consumers before?

Yes. Many of our clients come to us with no prior China activity at all. They know there’s an audience. They don’t know how to reach it. We start with strategy, then build the right platform footprint, then layer in content, influencer activity, and conversion infrastructure. We move at the pace your business can absorb.

What if we already have a Chinese-speaking team in-house?

Even better. In-house teams know the brand. We bring the platform expertise, cultural localisation and campaign systems they often don’t have time to build from scratch. Many of our long-term clients have a Chinese marketing lead internally and use us as their senior strategic partner.

How do we get started?

A thirty-minute call. We look at where your Chinese demand sits, where your current activity is leaking, and what the realistic revenue opportunity is. No deck, no pitch. If we can help, we’ll show you how. If we can’t, we’ll tell you who can.

Moqian has in-depth knowledge of trends in the Chinese market, shopping behaviours of Chinese tourists, and the rising popularity of beauty and alcohol products, along with the cultural reasons behind them. She's given me and my team many valuable insights and support. The workshops she delivered at Edinburgh Airport were a big hit and received great feedback from everyone involved. Moqian is also a highly creative person, and the social media posts she created for the airport were fantastic. She has strong commercial acumen, excellent awareness of the different social media channels, and is incredibly engaging and supportive. I've learned so much from her. I'd highly recommend working with her.
